Family Holiday in Kenya

This is the famous land of the Masai Mara, Tsavo and the Taita Hills, Kenya has been long known for a long-standing commitment to the conservation of its national parks and wildlife. This is also the country of the Great Rift Valley, with stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Mombasa on the Indian Ocean and ancient human tribes such as the Maasai, Swahili, Samburu, Turkana and Kikuyu. For building a once in a lifetime family holiday, Kenya has two main attractions which are the many Safari lodges across the various national reserves such as the Masai Mara, the Samburu, and the Tsavo offer spectacular views of wildlife as well as a chance to immerse yourself in the culture and traditions of the ancient tribes. Several lodges even offer bush schools and warrior academies for budding boys and girls who want to be Maasai warriors and for their parents, of course! Secondly, the Kenyan coastline features white sand beaches and warm, Indian Ocean waters that make for an idyllic family beach holiday. The safari lodges and camps are generally more suited to older children, and many come with an age restriction against the twelve and under children. This is because some of the camps have potential risks to very young children such as no fencing, proximity to rivers, steep steps or high walkways. Very early starts, late finishes and long days in a very bumpy vehicle can be a challenge for young children. Older children will not think twice, inevitably distracted by all the exciting wildlife and scenery that’s on offer. There are several coastal resorts, especially in Mombasa, which mainly offer some ideal family-friendly destinations and are ideal if you are looking for a highly luxurious family holiday in Kenya. The kids can be kept entertained with the games and provided by the hotel and their highly qualified staff while their parents relax with a massage in the hotel.  Dining at both the safari lodges and beach resorts often involves buffet food which caters to a variety of taste buds, keeping everyone fed and happy!
